I arrived in the U.S. as a Trieu Chau-Cambodian immigrant in middle school. Despite the challenges of language and cultural barriers, I was accepted into a UC and later transferred to Cal Poly, where I earned my engineering degree. That education became the foundation for my career and a stepping stone toward uplifting my family — thanks in large part to mentorship and networking. As a board member of Next Khmer, I’m committed to creating those same opportunities for the next generation, ensuring that students and young professionals have the support and community they need to thrive.
